TRUE DETECTIVE
True Detective is one of those rare shows (but almost always the ones that get rewatched) that is self contained and has everything you need in a story in just 8 episodes. It’s the kind of stuff that HBO excels at. Like Deadwood and Rome before it, you have a quick glance into another world, and you want more, but leave satisfied with the conclusion.
Brilliant performances by M. McConaughey and W. Harrelson keep the show moving at all times and McConaughey in particular is mesmerizing as Rust Cohle. Let’s just say he’s a ‘different’ kind of detective.
If you’ve got a weekend to spare, this is the kind of show you could easily get lost in. It’s frightening at times but only if you look to far into the darkness.
Great job HBO! Now it’s time to return to Game of Thrones!
Tv Creature and Lexington Comic Con
first painting in quite some time, Tv Creature will be available at Lexington Comic con in Kentucky this weekend. It’s the only show I’m doing this year as I get some things in order so hope to see you in the bluegrass state. Had a great time last year and really enjoyed the show.
A week as a Ps4 owner.
So it’s been about a week since I got my Playstation 4 and I’ve got to say my initial impressions are very positive.
The system improves on the loading and downloading problems that plagued my time with the PS3. Plus it runs very quiet for a machine so powerful.
I will recommend that if you pick up a PS4 to make sure you buy Playstation plus as well. For less than the cost of a game you get a new free game each month. As soon as I turned on Plus I received Outlast, Resogun, Warframe, and Blacklight. 4 great games to get my new system up and running, and just this Tuesday got Dead Nation as March’s free game. Add to the fact that Plus allows you online game saves and multiplayer gaming, and it’s a no brainer.
A few early concerns I have are the blu ray drive lasting as it loads really loudly and also the major issue I can see is the hard drive. It’s 500 gb but games are huge ranging up to 50 gb each. It wont be long before I will need a bigger storage system. Hopefully Sony offers an add-on hard drive before next year.
Overall I’m glad with my next generation choice, and if you get a PS4 be sure to friend me, as always I’m luckycreature.
Daytime Ghost Hunter minis now available
As many of you know I am the cocreator with my wife Jessica C. White of the comic Jessica Parasol, Daytime Ghost Hunter. We have two mini comics out currently. EVP and Tea for Two are both available on Jessicas shop. They are both $1.
Rom Spaceknight Page 14
I did a little colorist work for the Rom charity project put together by Rob Harrington of Ginger Rabbit Studio. I did the colors for the remade page 14 by artist Brad Gischia. The project which includes a complete remake of Rom #1 benefits it’s creator Bill Mantlo who was a victim of a hit and run and has continuing medical expenses.
Once the entire project is done, I’ll post a link but wanted to share my work here.
con-news ends.
A long project for any group but for times as a single handed project for fandom con-news was both frustrating and rewarding. It’s time for me to step away and I am closing con-news down. The site will remain as a resource up on the web for one year. Our entire database is posted and available for other sites to use.
It’s been fun, but time to hang up the convention news site runner hat. Goodbye on con-news
The Big Crafty!
