Theres no way this movie will live up to the hype for me. Great mood by Daft Punk. Can’t wait to see their videos.

I liked Iron Man 2. In fact things I liked better in this one. Better Villian. Mickey Rourke is cooler than Bald Jeff Bridges. There I said it. I also liked that CGI is now good enough that fight scenes aren’t a blurry mess. You can actually see the motion and it looks like a real fight. WAR MACHINE. Awesome.
Alot of critics and people I know hate that Marvel is making each movie about the Avengers. I think it’s a bold step and if it works can you imagine the cinematic universe they would create? The easter egg at the end of the credits makes me wonder what timeline we are dealing with in regards to a certain Norseman. And maybe it makes sense now that Kenneth Branagh is directing Thor if it takes place in Asgard more than Earth. Either way, I thought Iron Man was fun, and my only real negative is I sometimes thought Downey took the Stark Ego just a little too far, even for Tony. Otherwise solid sequel, and a nice romp in Marvel land.
Notice this is what I’ve seen this year. I’m sure there are many other movies that are more deserving but here goes, my favorites of the year, and I won’t be long winded. (The Reason Why)

4:District 9 (cool smart scifi)
3: MOON (amazing what great scifi you can make with a good story)
2: UP (cause Pixar’s got it.)
1: Star Trek (cause I’m a trekkie, and they made it cool)
I’m sorry but every time Depp gets with Tim Burton he gets creepier. Not that it won’t be amazing to watch. USA Today has more from Alice in Wonderland
Last year Pixar blew me away with Wall-E. Where they don’t do the same level here, this is still one of the better made movies of the year. And as far as animation goes Pixar is still the top dog although they did allow themselves some low children humor this time around, which I think most Pixar films avoid. Still there are few moments here where I felt like weeping like a little girl and that’s what Pixar does best, make you feel. With a cartoon.
If you have kids(old enough not to get scared by dogs), go see this movie. It will be better by far then most of the other dreck aimed at them.
